During our episode on The Wandering Earth, Vince mentioned a series of films by actor Jing Wu: Wolf Warrior I & II. The films–especially the second–were very successful, and so I thought it would be a good idea to tackle them on Popcorn Ronin.
Leng Feng (Jing Wu) is a sniper… with an attitude and little respect for the chain of command.
Sound familiar? Of course it does.
But the tropes don’t end there.
Vince and I have worked together on hundreds of podcasts over the course of the last ten years, however I’ve rarely felt that I’ve made him consume horrible media (be it games, comic books, movies, or TV)… until now.
I’m not saying I feel guilty. During our Comic Book Informer stint, he routinely made me read horrible comics, so I feel I still owe him. However these two films–and I use the term as loosely as possible–certainly do help to tip the scales back toward being a little closer to even.
