For many, John Krasinski will always be Jim Halpert from The Office. However he has been branching out since then, with roles like Jack Ryan and Lee Abbott. The latter is from A Quiet Place, a film which Krasinski not only starred in, but also co-wrote, and directed. It also stars his wife, Emily Blunt, as well as newcomer Millicent Simmonds, who steals every scene she’s in.
The film is clever in so many regards, however doesn’t flaunt that. Instead, it concerns itself with keeping you on the edge of your seat; as you’ve seen the consequences of this film’s “monsters,” and damn it, you’ve quickly fallen in love with this family and want them all to survive.
From brilliant directing, writing, editing, and tour de force acting performances, this film is easily one of our favourites from 2018.
