We’ve been teasing our A.I. episode for a while now, and we are looking forward to recording it; however we’ll all need to wait a couple weeks longer.
Because, as I said in this episode, I saw a movie recently that I just had to talk about… and I knew that Vince had been waiting as well.
The movie is Mad Max: Fury Road. It is one of Vince’s favourite movies as of late, however I was far more critical of it. It’s not enough to have kick-ass women in an adventure film. I would also like a story; something which Mad Max: Fury Road is sorely lacking.
This was a fun episode to record, not just because of the surprise for Vince, but also because Mad Max: Fury Road has become more than the sum of its parts, thanks to the vocal proponents and opponents of certain aspects of the film.
Luckily, neither Vince nor I are so insecure in our manhood that we’re intimidated by fantastic female acting in an action movie. And while Vince was more than sated with the film, I wanted so much more. In a way, that’s a testament to the film’s “lore”, as well as the strong characters.
On the other hand, it also means that for me at least, the film was lacking.
