This was supposed to be our Fast & Furious episode; however due to scheduling conflicts, we had to postpone that episode a couple weeks. Not wanting to wait that long to release something new, I asked Vince how he felt about just selecting a new anime at random and discussing it. This way, we would not go in with any pre-conceived notions, and would be able to either praise, or slam it, depending on how we felt.
Often when we talk about anime, it’s shows which we enjoy and feel compelled to discuss. I thought selecting something at random would make for a more dynamic conversation. I was not disappointed.
I chose Gate after reading the blurb about it on Crunchyroll. The concept sounded interesting enough that I figured we’d be able to rip through 12 episodes prior to recording.
So what did we think?
Well, you’ll have to listen to find out. Suffice it to say that there were elements that we absolutely loved… which were marred by horrific choices along the way.
