One of the biggest summer releases of 2013 was without a doubt Pacific Rim, directed by Guillermo del Toro. There’s a pun in there that I’ll let you figure out.
For fans of kaiju and mech movies, this truly was a gift from the gods. Giant creatures battling massive mechs, laying waste to cities; who could ask for more.
Well… me, and anyone else who would have preferred a more substantial story as well as a more engaging cast. Of course criticizing this movie reduced Vince to tears at points; still I maintain that the story and casting was lacking.
