POSTER_STIDOn this episode of Popcorn Ronin, Vince and I tackle Khan, in so much as we can, discussing both Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan and Star Trek Into Darkness. Khan is without a doubt the most iconic Star Trek villain, and so it’s not surprising that J.J. Abrams felt that despite the infinite possibilities, he had to feature Khan in the sequel to his Star Trek re-imagining.

It’s impossible to discuss Benedict Cumberbatch’s Khan though without also discussing the man who first brought the legend to life, Ricardo Montalbán. Opinions vary wildly, as to who better portrays this tortured villain.

POSTER_STIIVince and I had a lot of fun with this episode. We didn’t always agree, however therein lies some of the best conversations. While Vince loved Star Trek (2009), he wasn’t nearly as enthusiastic about Star Trek Into Darkness. Meanwhile, I felt the sequel was absolutely fantastic. Certainly not without its faults, however an exceptionally enjoyable film with truly memorable performances (particularly from Cumberbatch).

Let us know what you thought about these two sequels, and which you preferred.
